Bucket Town: Woodenware and Wooden Toys of Hingham, Massachusetts 1635-1945 by Derin T. Bray, has just been published by the Hingham Historical Commission.

Walls and buildings don’t talk. Materials – items our ancestors made and left behind – do tell their stories. All over the world, archaeologists learn about history through the artifacts they find, the instruments of commerce and everyday life.

Part of Hingham’s material history is shown here, and more is brought to life in greater detail in the book. All of this history is beautifully photographed by internationally renowned Fine Arts Photographer Gavin Ashworth.
